Frequently Asked Questions

What is it?

WoW! Boot Camp is a women's & men’s only four-week program of fitness instruction, nutritional guidance and team motivation.  We meet outdoors, unless there's inclement weather.

Each day, camp will be one hour in length, motivating and inspiring. Camp is offered at multiple locations and can be found in Athens and Oconee, with future sites in the works.

How are we different?

While your physical training will be performed in a team environment, you will receive personalized fitness assessments, fitness guidance and nutritional coaching to help you reach your individual goals. All classes are led by certified fitness professionals. Additionally, each instructor has undergone a rigerous WoW! staff training program & is CPR/First Aid certified by the American Heart association.  Each coach is committed to your success. Our program offers the opportunity to meet new friends whose health and fitness goals are similar to yours. We provide you with a supportive fitness community and offer educational opportunities that you can't find through any other program.

What if I am not physically fit?

NO ONE will be left behind or asked to complete more than they are capable of doing safely. Women & men of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate. We are here to support you and to ensure that everyone feels they are a part of the team. We meet you where you are and go from there!

What types of exercises are included in the program?

Exercises include: calisthenics, short distance running/walking, body weight resistance training, weight training, jump roping, crunches, hill running/walking, hiking, agility and power drills, sports drills, medicine ball work, stair climbing, partner drills, pilates, sport yoga, surprises and much more. Where else can you have this much fun?

How often will we meet?

Women will meet 3 days per week for one hour during the four-week session. Men will meet 2 days per week for one hour during the four-week session.  You may attend any class offered at any of our 5 locations.  All participants will be expected to arrive on time!

Why should I participate?

Along with achieving dramatic physical improvements, you will also meet great women [or men] who share your same passion for attaining a healthy body and mind. You’ll gain more energy, self-confidence & clarity.  If you chose to enroll in the 5:30am class, you’ll be finished with your training before the rest of the town has even started its day.

What is the cost (investment in myself)?

Each four-week camp has a registration of $200 for the women & $150 for the men. That's 12 hours of instruction for $16.67 per hour. Where else can you get premiere, cutting edge fitness and nutritional coaching for this incredible price!   Addionally, there are discounts offered for repeat campers.

Once we receive your registration information we will contact you to schedule your pre-camp assessment. This assessment will be administered by a WoW! Boot Camp coach.

What is the sign-up process?

Go to the Register page and fill out the 3 registration forms located on the Register/Schedule page. After completing and mailing the registration forms, you will be contacted via email to schedule your pre-camp assessment.

What is the Pre-Camp Assessment?

It includes:

  1. An introduction to Boot Camp and the ability to ask any questions you may have.
  2. A review your medical and fitness history.
  3. Assistance in setting your fitness goals and tips on how to best achieve these goals.
  4. A brief walk through of some nutritional information and the ability to ask questions you may have regarding your nutrition.
  5. Your coach will take a few simple body measurements to see where you are prior to beginning camp. We don't care what the measurements show. It's strictly for a post-camp comparison. These numbers and all other information will be held in the strictest confidence.
  6. Your coach will record your weight and measure your body fat percentage. Again, the numbers don't matter. We just want to be able to measure your improvement. Don't be surprised if you see a reduction in your body fat over the four weeks!
  7. You will receive your WoW! Welcome Packet.

How many coaches will we have?

There will be one head coach and 1 assistant coach at each class depending on the class size.

Where is the camp located?

We currently offer camps at these locations: Athens YMCA, Bishop Park, and Athens Academy. There is plenty of parking at all locations.

Are there shower facilities, or a place I can get ready for work?

Unfortunately, the only location that offers shower facilities is the Athens YMCA.  However if you have a gym membership or shower at your place of work these can be great options for showering post-camp.

What if I sign up for the 5:30am time slot, but miss it?

You may attend a later time slot at any location.  Conversely, if you are registered for a later time slot, you may attend an earlier time slot at any of our other locations if that is most convenient.  We want you there!  Perfect Attendance gifts are offered!!

Will I be sore after the workouts?

Most people feel some soreness for the first 2-3 days or even the first week of camp. After that point, it generally is slight to moderate. It's part of the process that lets you know you’re improving!

What types of people go to camp?

They are people just like you. Someone who needs a little (or big) push to jump-start her/his fitness and wellness program or someone who wants to be pushed to the next level. Even if you haven’t exercised in YEARS - WoW! welcomes you!  Our passion is YOU and helping you achieve the healthiest lifestyle possible.  We meet you where you are and go from there.

Is there a refund policy?

We can only give you a credit towards another boot camp if you are unable to continue with the one you began because of circumstance beyond your control. This credit is applied towards your next 4 week boot camp session and is non-transferable. There is no cash refund offered.

What is a typical day like at camp?

That's difficult to say since each day is intentionally different to alleviate boredom. You can expect: Sport Yoga, Pilates mat work, some running/walking, weight training,  jumping rope, cardio drills and body weight training each week. It's always creative, and you'll always have fun! We teach you a great deal about proper form and core stability.

What will I do after camp is over?

You will meet with your coach again for a post-assessment. Many campers return for multiple camps. We offer discounts to re-enlisters.
