Marcus Wiedower
At the age of thirty two, Marcus found himself where so many other thirty somethings find themselves; overweight, overworked, and in disbelief of how far his health and fitness had slipped.
In the summer of 2007, he realized that if he did not turn things around his children would grow up without a healthy father. He worried about the poor example he was setting.
A few weeks later, being a very social creature and needing motivation and accountability, he joined the Athens WoW! Boot Camp. Through the guidance of Michael Williams and the realization that there were many men out there walking in his shoes, Marcus broke through the negative thoughts that had held him back his entire life!
1 ½ years later, Marcus has lost over 60 pounds. After an extensive Boot Camp training program and because of his ability to motivate and inspire, Marcus was chosen to become a lead instructor. He coaches the Men’s Oconee WoW! Boot Camp! His motivation not only comes from the example that he is setting for his children, but knowing that he is helping other men overcome the same hurtles he faced.
Marcus has taken his life back and is now living the Fitness Lifestyle. He enjoys the challenges of endurance sports, completing his first marathon in 3:53, while continuing to shave time off his best half marathon time of 1:38! He is currently training for his second full marathon and the inaugural Augusta half Ironman 70.3, September 27, 2009!
