April:

I'm just so amazed

at my body's response to the hard workouts...I never believed that the change would be what it has been - not at my age.  Three months isn't a long time, but because of the hard workouts coupled with the change in diet, WOW works.

Both things have to work in tandem though to accomplish this change  --  and my carefully controlling what and how much I eat is just as important as the workouts.

The WOW experience, since January, has not been easy or comfortable.  But, like many others, I've needed the group experience and the encouragement...going it alone would have been very, very hard, probably impossible.  I am a person who needs an "appointment" so I'll show up!  In the future, I think I'll be able to stick to this regime with or without a group experience, but for now, and for some time into the future, this WOW experience is the key to positive change.

Images are important...I keep thinking of those sundresses you mention.  Not that I've worn one in years, but maybe I will again!

Hey April,

I just wanted to let you know that I am still getting my workout on! I ran in the Peachtree Road Race yesterday and I was able to accomplish that feat because I was a Workout Warrior! By participating in bootcamp back in November and December I was able to add running to my workout routine and I've kept it up!  Ernise

Back in March I ran a 5K (http://runladyrun.blogspot.com/2007/03/ran-5k.html)  and now I've run a 10K!

Please tell everyone hello!

best,
ernise

I felt so good about myself at the wedding this past weekend. I know I have a lot more to go but just to have this much accomplished is a great feeling. My son did a double-take when he saw me! Thank you so much for living and doing your dream to help others.

I go to bootcamp in Jefferson. Katie should have my pre-assesment. But just so you know - I am loving bootcamp!!!!!!!!! It's a great thing you got going! I am working out way harder than I ever have on my own.

Boot camp has made me think it is possible to be fit and strong again. I did not think it would be possible because of all the health complications I have had for the past 5 years...Boot camp has by no means been easy – ha! Ha!...But I have finally lost weight, become stronger and more energetic only after a few weeks. My breathing is even improving which amazes me because I have always had labored breathing (childhood asthma, etc.). I still have a long way to go. But having April there, who is knowledgeable and encouraging will help me reach my goals. She has helped me realize I can do more than I think I can. She has also taught me the right ways to do the exercise (crunches for example) which I believe is half the battle. She has shown me that old injuries (broken tailbone that did not heal right) don’t have to slow you down. Not only has April be a great encouragement, but the other ladies as well. Seeing them out there day after day achieve their goals and working so hard makes me work harder.

Thanks for everything,

D

April, I just want to thank you for working so hard with us today. I think  you are amazing and inspiring. You strive to keep us positive...I can do it and will not quit! I have dedicated to coming to Boot Camp for an indefinite period of time. I worked hard about 8 years ago to get in shape, then got slack since about 2004... You are great and thanks for all you do. I am proud to be a part of the sisterhood, ...it is just a beginning!
